Casorzo is a tiny town with a population of only 700 people, located in the northern Italian province of Asti, immersed in the Monferrato region (latitude 45° 01'). It is well known to wine connoisseurs. This part of Italy produces a lot of fine wines, whole region is beautiful, with its hills, many of which have a town on the top with well maintained vineyards and farms surrounding them. Casorzo's most well known wine is Malvasia di Casorzo.
The village is dominated by the parish church, a juvenile work (1730) by Magnocavallo with inside two paintings by Guglielmo Caccia known as Moncalvo. On a hill at the boundary of the village, one can admire the church of S. George dating back to the XIIth-XIIIth centuries with original parts among which the apse. Other buildings of relevance: XVIth century mansions located in upper part of the village, the town hall, the tower in the vineyard, the ruins of the fortress, the retirement house, the evangelical church (recently renovated).
